Prof. Mohamed Said Rajab, Ph.D., E.B.S., is a distinguished academic and leader with over three decades of experience in higher education, scientific research, and institutional governance. He holds a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Maine, U.S.A., and a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Nairobi.
Throughout his illustrious career, Prof. Rajab has served in prestigious institutions across Kenya and internationally, including the International Centre of Insect Physiology and Ecology (ICIPE), the University of Maine, Southwestern Medical Centre in Dallas, Louisiana State University, Moi University, Kenyatta University, and Pwani University.

His commitment to education and national development is further reflected in his service on key governance boards such as the Jomo Kenyatta Foundation, the Kenyatta University Council, Pwani University Council, the National Museums of Kenya, and the Kenya Agricultural Research Institute (now KALRO). He has also chaired the Sheikh Zayed Children Welfare Center and the Mombasa County Education Board.

Prof. Rajab has received specialized training in leadership and university management from leading institutions such as the University of Oxford, the University of Abertay Dundee, and the University of Warwick in the United Kingdom. He has also undertaken executive training in corporate governance in Kenya, Israel, and Egypt.

Currently serving as Chairman of the Kenya National Commission for UNESCO, Prof. Rajab brings visionary leadership, academic integrity, and a wealth of international experience to KNATCOM’s mandate of advancing education, science, culture, and communication for sustainable development in Kenya.
