KNATCOM undertakes mid-term review of strategic plan 2019-2023

The KNATCOM Board Chairman, Dr. Misigo Amatsimbi has this morning officially opened the joint Board and Senior Management retreat to undertake KNATCOM’s Stratgic Plan 2019-2023 midterm review. While making his remarks, Dr. Amatsimbi acknowledged the progress realized by the Commission in achieving its mandate and attributed the milestones to the leadership by the Secretary General, Dr. Evangeline Njoka and strategic guidance provided by the Board of the Commission.
The review process involved a rigorous evaluation of the strategic objectives, strategies and activities for the midterm period. Assessment of operational performance was also done to establish relevance, efficiency, effectiveness, impact, sustainability and visibility measured on a 5-point Likert scale. The exercise also contextualised emerging issues such climate change and COVID-19 pandemic among others including technologies on operations. The KNATCOM strategic plan 2019-2023 midterm review has come at an opportune time just when the 41st UNESCO General Conference in November 2021 adopted Medium-Term Strategy for 2022-2029 (41 C/4) and Programme and Budget 2022-2025 (41 C/5) as well as the Priority Africa Operational Strategy 2022-2029. The reviewed Strategic Plan 2019-2023 will leverage of these critical UNESCO documents and with more focussed flagship projects and activities.
