The study on The Impact of Female Genital Mutilation and Child Marriage on Girls Transitioning from Primary to Secondary School Education in Kajiado and Narok Counties was conducted from June 2018 to December 2019. The study was conducted in collaboration with World Vision Kenya, Girl Child Network and Child Fund who have girls’ education programmes in Kajiado and Narok counties. Mt Kenya University and Kenyatta University provided technical support to the process.
The report was shared with the members of the expert Committee on 30th January, 2020 at the Commission’s offices. The members appreciated the report and provided input on various aspects, especially the presentation of the data. In addition, the members deliberated on interventions that can be carried out through the Commission towards addressing girls’ retention and transition in Kajiado and Narok.
