Director, Communication and Information Programme

Functions of the Communication and Information Programme
The Programme exists to promote involvement in UNESCO’s activities with stakeholders dealing in Communication and Information; promote linkages between UNESCO and various Government institutions and private sector concerned with Communication and Information; to promote dissemination of information on UNESCO prizes and awards to potential candidates and ensure their participation; to promote dissemination of information on UNESCO fellowships and study grants to potential applicants and facilitate their participation; to coordinate participation in international meetings on Communication and Information;  to coordinate ratification of UNESCO Communication and Information related conventions and protocols; to initiate research and collaboration with other partners and across the programmes; to coordinate capacity building in Communication and Information; to formulate KNATCOM Communication and Information programmes and activities; and provide expert advisory service in Communication and Information.

Manager Human Resource and Administration

Functions of the Human Resource and Administration Department

The Human Resource & Administration Division is responsible for ensuring availability of competent and adequate personnel across all the departments and branches of the Commission to meet its objectives. They are responsible for management of the Human Resource Function; including formulation, periodic review and implementation of HR policies; compensation and benefits; staff training and development (competent and productive workforce); employee industrial relations; and performance management.

Officer, Resource Centre

Functions of the KNATCOM Resource Centre Department

The KNATCOM Resource Centre Department exists to develop a modern Resource Centre and update regularly with UNESCO and KNATCOM generated resources; collect, collate and share UNESCO research and academic journals; provide advisory service to facilitate data acquisition, capture and analysis with research projects; provide information to researchers on research and research policy at other institutions and government agencies; provide technical and physical resource in form of computers and statistical software for production of reports and other academic outputs; promote use of Information Technology in the UNESCO areas of competencies to preserve information and foster intellectual collaboration; provide a link between UNESCO’s research output and publications and individual researchers, practitioners and policy makers in Kenya; develop regular newsletters on emerging issues in the UNESCO areas of competence; and facilitate access to e-resources in the UNESCO areas of competence.
