About the Programme

The Opportunity

In October 2019 and November 2019, the British Council in partnership with Nesta   (the UK’s innovation Foundation) will deliver the Creative Enterprise Programme in Ethiopia and Kenya.

CREATIVE ENTERPRISE PROGRAMME EAST AFRICA OPEN CALLS | DEADLINE 15th SEPTEMBER

The Creative Enterprise programme will deliver a four-day workshop in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia from 17- 21 October 2019 for creative entrepreneurs across all art forms, who are driven by a mission to create and sustain social value through their creative enterprise.

Whether you are in architecture, digital arts, visual or performing arts, fashion, music or film. We are looking for all creatives with a social impact.

Our Nairobi workshops will take place in Nairobi, Kenya from 29 November – 03 December for those working across fashion and Film (this can include all creatives working across fashion,  textiles, design, accessories, footwear, millinery and across Film, TV and radio.

NAIROBI FASHION DESIGNERS FORUM | 10TH SEPTEMBER

Dr Roberta Comunian, King’s College London and Dr Brian J. Hracs, University of Southampton would like to invite you to submit an interest in taking part in a research event entitled “Nairobi Fashion Designers Forum” and it aims to bring together fashion designers in Nairobi to discuss issue of concern to them as individuals and as a sector. The event will take place on the 10th of September 2019 (10am-4pm) at Nairobi Garage.

The researchers would like to involve as many fashion designers as possible, to have a broad representation of career stages and work. They aim for this workshop to be open and inclusive, however, there are 20 places available to enable discussion and knowledge sharing.
