Ms. Florence Chemutai is an accomplished public service professional with over 25 years of experience in education, public administration, and gender mainstreaming. She currently serves as Deputy Director at the State Department for Gender and Affirmative Action, where she plays a key role in the planning, design, and implementation of national gender and affirmative action programmes.
She holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Strategic Planning from Kenya Methodist University (KeMU), a Bachelor of Education degree from Moi University, and a Higher Diploma in Human Resource Management. Her broad training background is further enhanced by numerous professional development courses, both locally and internationally, in gender policy, leadership, and organizational management.
Ms. Chemutai has also served as an Alternate Director on the Uwezo Fund Oversight Board, contributing to inclusive economic empowerment initiatives targeting women, youth, and persons with disabilities. She is recognized for her commitment to gender equity, social inclusion, and institutional strengthening, and continues to champion affirmative action and inclusive development within Kenya’s public service landscape.
