Kenya National Commission for UNESCO (KNATCOM) has developed its second Strategic Plan 2019 – 2023 and validated it through a stakeholder participation process that was held from 8th – 10th May 2019. The climax of this process is the planned launch of the new strategic plan that will guide the Commission’s operations in the next five years.
As part of enhancing efficiency in service delivery, the Commission also developed a Quality Management System (QMS) modeled on the ISO 9001:2015 International Standard. Through a rigorous auditing process by the certification body (Kenya Bureau of Standards), the Commission met the threshold for ISO 9001: 2015 certification. Subsequently, the Commission has developed the requisite documentation and put in place processes and procedures to guide its operations. This is a major milestone for the Commission and the certification confirms the commitment to provision of quality service delivery in the process of achieving its mandate.
The Commission is desirous to celebrate these two key milestones through a launch that will be held from 9.00 am on 20th June 2019 at Hilton Hotel Nairobi. Senior representatives from Ministries, Departments, State Corporations, National Assembly, County Governments, UN Agencies, Ambassadors, Academia, Civil Society, as well as the Private Sector are expected to attend.
From the Board, Management and Staff of KNATCOM, we thank you all for your tireless commitment, advise and support over the years and welcome you to partner with us in the next, new, exciting chapter of our service to you.
