The UNESCO/Guillermo Cano World Press Freedom Prize 2026 is now open!
Eligible stakeholders are invited to apply for nomination for the UNESCO/Guillermo Cano World Press Freedom Prize 2026. This prestigious award honours a person, organization or institution that has made an outstanding contribution to defending or promoting press freedom, especially in the face of risk.
Nomination submissions must be made by 9 February 2026 and completed using the official form in English or French. Check the link below for more information and the official nomination forms to be completed and submitted to KNATCOM for nomination to UNESCO.
The laureate will be recognized on World Press Freedom Day (3 May 2026) with the award of a $25,000 prize.
