Tree planting at Naivasha High School

Towards the tree growing target of 15Billion tree by 2030

The Kenya National Commission for UNESCO Board members, the Secretary General/CEO, and the Board Secretariat crowned a week-long training in Naivasha with tree seedling planting on 17th May 2024 at Naivasha High School. As directed by the Ministry of Education, Schools engaged in tree planting initiative.
The Naivasha High School BoM, the school Principal Mr. Kibe, Deputy Mr. Chege, teachers and student planted seedlings at the school compound. The initiative was led by the Commission’s Ag. Secretary General/CEO, Dr. James Njogu, HSC who also serves in the BoM. This effort is part of the government of Kenya goal of growing 15 billion trees by year 2030. The Commission will tirelessly seize any available opportunity to grow as many tree as possible beyond the allocated target.
