Kenya National Commission for UNESCO (KNATCOM) in collaboration with the School of Education of Kenyatta University, will be hosting the celebrations to mark the 2019 World Teachers Day. The day provides the occasion to celebrate the teaching profession worldwide, to take stock of achievements, and to address some of the issues central for attracting and keeping the brightest minds and young talents in the profession. The theme of the 2019 Word Teachers Day is; “Young Teachers: The future of the Profession”.
This will be held at Kenyatta University on 4th October, 2019, alongside the“6th International Annual Conference on Education and Lifelong learning” scheduled for 3rd and 4th October, 2019. The theme of the conference is “Re-Conceptualizing Teaching and Learning for Sustainable Development”.
The conference brings together over 200 local and international scholars and practitioners in the area of education to deliberate on research findings that can impact on enhancing provision of education for sustainable development. The conference has identified key note speakers who will make presentations aimed at setting and sustaining the tone of the conference theme. In addition, there will be a series of pre-conference activities organized to create thematic awareness within and outside the University.
